Umbilical cord prolapse

Umbilical cord prolapse happens when the umbilical cord precedes the fetus' exit from the uterus. It is an obstetric emergency during pregnancy or labor that imminently endangers the life of the fetus. Cord prolapse is rare.[1] Statistics on cord prolapse vary, but the range is between 0.14% and 0.62% of all births in most studies.[2]

Cord prolapse is often concurrent with the rupture of the amniotic sac. After this happens the fetus moves downward into the pelvis and puts pressure on the cord. As a result, oxygen and blood supplies to the fetus are diminished or cut-off and the baby must be delivered quickly. - source : wikipedia.com

Kenapa tetiba je cakap pasal umbilical cord prolapse ni?

Masa pegi weekly check up tadi, at 1st I was wondering kenapa lama sangat doc ni buat ultrasound kali ni.
At one point,dia dok fokus dekat lower abdominal pastu dia dok check ntah apa ntah yg selama ni dia tak penah buat pon.
Siap keluar kaler biru oren bagai dekat screen.
Doc didn't say anything yet.
Tapi sblm tu dia ada cakap yg baby dok melintang kat atas,kaki kat bawah.
Aku dok ingat songsang biasa je.
Pas dah abis semua,baru dia bagitau : 'kalao baby dok melintang ni bahaya tau. Plus dia punya tali pusat dok bawah plak. Normally c-zer kalao kes camni'
Masa tu, I was like : 'ok relax'
Mak aku plak yg agak tau pasal benda2 ni : 'betul doc,bahaya tu...buatla ape yg patut doc. Nak admitted sekarang ke?'
Tapi doc cakap,kita tunggu sampai next week,takkan nak admitted smpi 2 minggu.
But doc did warned me kalao ade turun tanda ke,ade sakit2 sikit ke immediately dtg hospital.
Aku ade tanya jugak,slalunye senario camni Baby boleh pusing balik tak & tali pusat tu beralih ke atas ke.
Doc cakap memang boleh,tapi my baby dari awal lagi kedudukan dia tak menentu.
Macam last 2 weeks kepala ke bawah.
Pastu ni melintang plak.
Takot kang by the time nak full term kang,dia songsang balik.
Betul jugak.
Utk aku yg tak brapa tau ape risiko nye pada mula2, rilex jela. Blur pon ada.
Macam 'ok,c-zer pon c-zer lah'.

Then on the way balik umah, called hubby dan bgtau dia pasal ni.
Dia t'diam sekejap.
After a while baru dia bersuara : 'c-zer pon c-zer la sayang,yg penting baby & awak selamat'
Ok,masa tu tak rasa apa lagi.

Sesampai je kat umah,aku pon meng-google perihal umbilical cord prolapse ni.
Hasilnya,dapatla informasi mcm kat atas tu.
Now only aku sedar yang umbilical cord prolapse ni boleh membahayakan nyawa baby.
Tetiba plak tgh2 baca wikipedia tu hubby call,cakap kesian baby.
Ok, baru skang aku terasa.
Terasa nak meraung!
Tapi cakap ngan hubby buat2 mcm xde apa dulu.
Tapi tgh2 tgk tivi tadi,seriously nak menangis gila mengenangkan anak ku dalam perot ni.
Kalao boleh esok jugak nak soh doc keluarkan dia.
Astaghfirullahalazim...

Tak ada kata2 yg boleh gambarkan betapa risaunya aku sekarang,betapa sedihnya aku bila pikirkan pasal baby.
Harap2 ianya tidak berlaku sampai tahap ni, Ameen.

Aku hanya mampu b'doa pada DIA,selamatkan la anak ku ini, Ameen ya Rabb. T_T
